6/1/12

Praise the Lord, one step closer. On Tuesday I went to Seattle to have a nickel patch placed (literally a coin sized piece of nickel taped to my back), and today I went to have it removed and checked. There was absolutely no reaction to the nickel, so as far as I know that means Friday, June 15th I’ll check in to Swedish Hospital at 11am for a 1pm procedure to close the hole in my heart. It’s an amazing procedure! check it out here if you’re curious (it’s not gory or graphic, I promise!).

I’m thankful for take two at this…healing by any means will be a miracle. Please pray for the Lord to guide the doctors’ hands. This will be, in their words, still be “complicated”, as my ASD is on the larger side of what they can close with this procedure. They will keep me overnight and do an echocardiogram to double check that all is well before letting me go on Saturday. After that I won’t be able to drive for a few days to a week as the incision heals. Last time, I was fairly sore for about a week but was up and around the next day. I’ll have plenty of people around to make sure I take it easy and rest during the recovery phase. 🙂

My life is ever in His hands!
