4/22/12

It has been a while since I’ve sent any updates on my health, as it has been a period of waiting! After the first attempt to close the ASD (atrial septal defect) in my heart back in November, I’ve been waiting for an appointment with a cardiologist in Seattle. This is finally happening – I’ll be headed down this coming Thursday, April 26th for a 2:30 consultation. Please continue to pray with me!!

  • first for healing!!
  • that this appointment goes well and that we can get a date set for attempt #2 of a minimally invasive catheter procedure to close up the ASD.
  • for peace in the coming week. I know that the Lord has this under control and I will trust Him with the outcome, whatever it is. I have a small nagging fear that I’ll be told that they can’t use the catheter procedure and will have to do open heart surgery after all. Of course this is still a possibility, I just haven’t had to think about it for a while.
  • for provision – the Lord has faithfully been providing for the extra costs of medical expenses, and everything that was done last year is covered/paid for. However, we’re sort of starting over from square one. I’m asking for provision of $5000 USD for this year to cover medical and other expenses (more details below). If you are moved to give towards this need, I have online giving (USA tax deductible) set up here.

In the meantime, I’ve been learning to enjoy the wait. At the beginning of 2012, my job changed and I moved from customer service to marketing at Logos Bible Software. Now I’m on our Marketing Technology team where my inner geek finally has a home. I get to build websites, learn new technologies, and help manage our team’s workflow. I am blessed with an amazing team of fun and quirky individuals, and I am very thankful for this new position.

Outside of work, I am continuing to serve at Light of the World Prayer Center about 20 hours weekly. I oversee worship there, and lead worship for 4 weekly prayer meetings. This year we are holding monthly “Burns” – 24 hours straight of worship lead by teams from all over the area – which I organize and oversee. The goal is to establish 24/7 worship and prayer to the ONE who is more than worthy to receive all of it. We’re very excited to see a growing unity county-wide among pastors, youth pastors, and worship leaders. We are also seeing city-wide transformation as we pray in unity over the “7 Spheres of Society” (Business, Education, Government, Healthcare, Family, Media, Church). Finally, in addition to medical expenses:

  • I desperately need a smaller guitar. My guitar, which I bought 11 years ago, is far too big for me and is actually very painful to play for 2 hours at a time, multiple nights a week.
  • I’m also hoping to take a trip back to Hong Kong later this year (end of August), and need provision of air-fare. I would be meeting up with my roommate who will be there for a break between mission trips to various places in Africa and Asia. I’ll get to serve them and help them navigate around HK while they’re there.

I am in awe of the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness and rejoice in Him! Thank you for walking this journey with me!

My life is ever in His hands!!
