11/21/11

Thank you for continuing to pray with me through this season! I’m so thankful for the Lord’s leading and provision!

On October 7th I was diagnosed with an ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) – I was born with a hole in my heart. On October 26th I went in for a Trans-esophageal Echocardiogram to get better pictures of my heart and see how large the hole is (it’s a moderate sized one). On November 17th I had an appointment with a cardiologist who will be fixing my ASD, and I’m scheduled to go in on November 23rd (this Wednesday!) to get it fixed! Check out this video for a little info about this procedure.

A couple of requests!

  • First, that everything is approved quickly through my insurance. I got a call today from the doctor’s office saying they were still waiting for my insurance to approve the procedure. After calling my insurance company, I found out that they received the request for this procedure just today. Please pray for a speedy approval process!
  • Second, please pray for peace and a smooth procedure with no complications, and that the Lord will guide the doctor’s and nurses’ hands. I’m hoping for as little sedative as possible for this procedure. I’m thankful to have the next couple of days off work, and the weekend to rest as well, and a loving community to take care of me here.. After the procedure, I’ll go in for 2 week, 30 day, 6 month and 12 month checkups. Once the Septal Occluder is placed in my heart, it serves as a framework for heart tissue to grow completely over it. As long as there are no complications, they will sign me off as “good to go” after the 12 month checkup.
  • Finally, please pray for provision for medical bills that go quite beyond what’s in my normal budget. The Lord is already providing, and I believe He will do so fully!
