Thank you so much for your support, prayers, messages and encouragement this week! I’ve certainly felt the Lord’s peace and presence today. I went in to the hospital this morning for my TEE (transesophageal echocardiogram) and was immediately surrounded by a small army of friends who came to “see me off” and pray with me.
The procedure itself was relatively un-eventful… I have tiny veins and so the IV was a bit of adventure – the nurse had to try two spots before getting a good line. I got to gargle some nasty numbing stuff then they sprayed more nasty numbing stuff down my throat, then they gave me sleepy meds. I remember parts of the procedure (woke up twice so they pushed more meds) then I woke up in recovery.
PRAISE THE LORD, I will not need heart surgery. There is still a hole there (so please continue praying with me for a healing miracle!) and it still needs to be fixed, but they will be able to close it with a minimally invasive catheter procedure. This will happen sometime in the next couple of months, I imagine. I have a followup appointment with the doctor who will do this procedure on November 17th.
I’m feeling fine with no side-effects from the procedure except for a sore throat. This year has been the worst year I’ve ever had for throat/tonsil/sinus issues, and looking into getting my tonsils and adenoids removed is what lead us to discover the heart condition. I’m so very thankful for the timing of all this, and look forward to walking out my journey to complete healing and heath with the Lord. Please keep praying with me – the journey has just begun. My life is in His hands for His glory!
