Greetings from across the miles!

I’m writing with a prayer request. The Lord is so good! This past year I’ve had many amazing blessings but also my share of health challenges. A few weeks ago I discovered that I was born with an ASD (Atrial Septal Defect) – a hole between my left and right atrium. It is something that needs to be fixed now to avoid problems later in life. I have oxygen-rich blood leaking from the higher pressure left atrium (where it’s all supposed to be pumped out to the body) over to the right atrium. Over time, this can cause enlargement of the right atrium and other areas of the heart because of the extra pressure and blood-flow created by the leak. The size of this hole will dictate the treatment options. I’m going this Wednesday (Oct 26th, 11am) for a Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE). This will allow the doctors to get clear pictures of my heart and determine the size of the hole.

I will send an update with the results – treatment options may or may not include heart surgery. I woulds prefer not. 🙂 Please join me in appealing to the Lord, Jehovah Rapha, my Healer! I am thankful for His timing in revealing this. My desire first and foremost is that the Lord would be glorified through my journey. I’m asking for prayer for healing in whatever form the Lord would choose to give it – either through the doctors’ skill and medicine, or by a miracle. I’m also asking for His peace through the process, and for His provision for the bills.

Thank you for praying with me!! My life is in the Lord’s hands, and “I am still confident of this – that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living!” (Psalm 27:13).
